Zoom! Tooth Whitening
We use the market-leading Zoom! Light to help the active ingredient, Carbamide Peroxide, to penetrate the surface of the tooth. As it’s broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, removing the coloured substances but leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged.
The complete procedure takes just over an hour in total. First we prepare your teeth and then perform 45 minutes of whitening. A scale and polish is required prior to your Zoom! whitening session.
Is whitening safe?
Yes. Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. It is not recommended for children under 13 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.
Are there any side effects?
Temporary sensitivity during the treatment may occur in approximately 70% of patients. This sensation is transient and always resolves within 24 to 48 hours. The usual pain relief you’d take for a headache is enough to take away any discomfort.
What will I experience during the procedure?
You will be reclining back in one of our super comfortable dental chairs. You'll be wearing tinted glasses to stop any glare from the Zoom! light reaching your eyes. It's so relaxing many clients bring their iPods and enjoy a snooze!
